Having trouble identifying this component / module

P

paul h

Hi ,

I am trying to identify a component on a board , its identifier is ISR1 ,
unfortunately its had its part number scraped off
Its function is to convert 24vdc to 12vdc @ 2A also there is a similar
device that converts to 5vdc @ 2A , so i suspect its a dc - dc convertor
Ive looked on the net for similar devices but cant find anything

The device has 12 pins and mounts horizontally.

here are some pics of the device

What is it out of? Which component has its numbers scratched off.

Its out of a bus , it supplies power to an onboard modem , the company we
orignally bought this board
from has stopped trading

If you look at the 3rd picture , you can see the id has been removed from
the frame of the unit,

I wouldn't have thought that the frame would have moulded makers
name/model numbers on it since you'd need a different one for
each model change.

So, which is 'ISR1'? BTW, 2Amps seems a lot of juice for a modem!

TI bought a company a while back that made the type of module you show.
Perhaps they have something like it you can compare it to?

It looks like an Integrated Switching Regulator, probably by Power
Trends, who were bought by TI.

Here is just one of many Google hits:

I plugged the pat. no. on top of the toroid into the www.uspto.gov
search and came up with this: (sorry about the wrap around)
http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PALL
&p=1&u=/netahtml/srchnum.htm&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1=5,789,712.WKU.&OS=PN/5,789,
712&RS=PN/5,789,712

Possibly a long shot, but you might be able to get more info from the
Power Trends, Inc. mentioned in the patent. The PTI must mean Power
Trends, Inc.
