I want to build a unit to wind guitar pickups. I consider myself pretty handy when it comes to building things and tackling new projects but am not an electronics wiz. I could use a little guidance and will research more upon receiving feedback.
Here are some key points.
Must include a counter that can count up or down and be reset. The unit must also slow down and stop once the desired count is reached. Maximum 1600 rpm, very low load as the wire is extremely thin with very little tension. Forward and reverse. As adjustable speed.
Bonus: as an add on to the original build it should have the ability to automatically traverse the width of the pick up (1") max. It must also speed up and slow down with the winding as the traverse speed should move at the rate of one thread width for each complete rotation.
Bonus 2:. Counter presets for different types of pickups. Eg: #1 6000 winds, #2 6250 winds etc.
Thank you
