Guidance on Electric Longboard Remote's Responsiveness

I recently bought a new electric longboard but I felt like the board's wheels responded late compared to its remote. How to tackle this issue any guidance?

Is it possible that the remote has ‘dual rates’ for a slower, smoother ride?.
I know RC helicopter transmitters have ‘dual rates’, most beginners need it initially.
