GSM modules + PICAXE

Hi! I think i previously posted in a wrong section..Working on a project that involved a micro-controller and a GSM unit.
I want the GSM unit to receive signals and send it to the picaxe micro.
Does anyone have any idea or experience in programming GSM modules?
Are there limitations on what kind of GSM units I can use with a picaxe microcontroller?
Is this usable?

It looks like you can connect this to a serial device (the PICAxe supports serial comms) to send and receive information.

You'd have to find the specs on the device to determine if you can do what you required through this interface.
