I have an electrically operated garage door which I would like to connect to the internet so it can be remotely operated.
In the control box there are labelled connectors for connecting push buttons: one to open and one to close the garage door.
I've measured the voltage across these connectors and its 2.44V.
I plan to use an ESP-12E with Tasmota firmware and connect a couple of the GPIOs to to the bases of PN2222 transistors with the collector and emitter wired to the switch contacts.
Since I know very little about electronic circuitry, and I don't wish to fry the control box, I would be grateful if somebody could let me know if this is likely to work.
