I'm totally new to electronics, but I've set myself a project for this year. I am going to make an arcade style station for my PS3.
What I want to do
A coin acceptor with a timer that will only allow the user to be able to use the console once the right value has been put in. This could be power to the console or power to the controllers, either way not particularly bothered. Ultimate aim is for the console not to be able to be used without the right value.
Where I'm confused
I've seen loads of coin acceptors and timers online, but I haven't seen anything on how they would be connect to the PS3.
I can buy a coin acceptor and timer but I just don't understand how they all come together to work. Is anyone able to help at all please?
