Game EEPROMS

I just came onto a box of what appear to be arcade game EEPROM chips
from the early 80's...dozens of them. For instance, the one I'm looking
at is marked:

"SUPER COBRA
RA1 5E(36F-)
1981 STERN"

There are many more, some marked with popular arcade games from the
period and others with more cryptic inscriptions. Also with this lot
came what looks like a sound card from a Bally video game. I don't have
any use for these. Is there a market for them? I know there are a few
here who collect and service these old machines....

There might be some interest, but you won't get rich. So many of the
ROMs are available on-line in archives for free, and most people who
collect or service the machines burn their own.

I was mainly looking for a place where they would be more useful than in
my trash bin...of course, if they were highly sought and valuable, I
wouldn't mind.

I'm perfectly willing to retire on someone's castoffs. <g>

Put them on ebay and find out.

Most of the ROM images are easily available, but there's some market for
the chips themselves regardless of what is on them.

As a service to others, I'd archive the contents on a CD or submit the
data to an online library. It might also help to know what kind of
EEPROMs/EPROMs they are, eg 2708, 2716, etc.

That's what I'd hope for. It's always useful to have different
revisions for the same machine, and a lot of roms haven't been
dumped yet!
