galvanometer of wheatstone bridge

In wheat stone bridge,the galvanometer is sensitive ammeter. Hence it has very small load resistance. While it connecting it between the two pairs of resistors, doesnt it look like short circuited one?.

More or less but when the bridge is balaced, there is no voltage across the bridge so no current and the resistance is not significant.
