Fuzz Pedal, adding a fuzz pot?

I've been working on a fuzz pedal and I had a question about where to connect my pot that controls the fuzziness of the circuit. I found a basic schematic (shown below) and was going to build upon it and add in the appropriate values.

I theoretically understand how to wire the volume pot (ground - lug 1, output jack - lug 2, output from circuit board - lug 3). But I don't get how to wire up a pot to control the fuzziness of the pedal.

Also, if there are any guitar players out there, should I add a tone knob to my fuzz circuit?

The fuzz pot in the lower right corner of your drawing is connected the same way:
1 - GND
2-capacitor to GND
3- circuit (M2 emitter)

Note that your circuit is more of an overdrive than a fuzz circuit.
