Hi, I'm new to soldering and I certainly don't like fumes that comes out when soldering. These smells give me a headache for the rest of a day. But the commercial extractors was too expensive for me. So I decided to make a fume extractor myself.
I chose to do it with a 80 mm 3000 rpm computer fan. But which filter should I use?
Do I need a activated carbon filter made for fume extraction or can I use fish tank filter sponge?
And would car filters work too?
Lastly, will these filters be able to filter out smells of soldering fumes too?
Thanks, Tyler.
