Faulty mini hifi system

Greetings

I have been keeping this Philips mini hifi system for quite some time and I hate to part away from it since it has a fault

I'm hoping to find answers and solutions as to how and why the fault occurs

The fault issue is that when I turn it on, it was suppose to show the welcome screen on the display, but instead it just froze with all its LED lights on,

Buttons are not responding when it is pressed.

My suspicion is that it could be the power supply board l, because I opened the unit, and I found some leaks on the capacitors that are on the power board (looks like yellow powered residue on top of them)

My question is, do you think that this leaky capacitors might be the cause of the fault? I haven't replaced the capacitors yet until I have enough funds to do so.

Appliance unit ID:

Capacitors that are on the power board (looks like yellow powered residue on top of them)

It does sound like leaking caps, particularly if they are bulging. But, It's also possible that its wax, rosin residue or glue used during assembly.
Post some photos and we can offer our opinion, although the only true test that it's good is to remove it and test it with a meter.

Can't say offhand that this is the problem but it's highly possible.

Hello,

Pictures would help a lot.
The yellow powered residu could be dried electrolyte that came out of the capacitor.
When you have a multimeter, you could measure the output voltages of the powersupply as given in the schematic:

Thanks for the help, I will try to produce a picture of it once I am free for the time being, and once I sort it out with an electrical repair technician I will post an update
