Hello NG,
I have a very old Fanuc Memory Brick. The programmer I used is no dead and I
need a replacement. Do you have any idea where to find such devices or to
build them?
Thanx,
Christian
Very old is a relative term. If it still works, it's not really old.
Try doing a google or hotbot on "programmable controllers fanuc repair". I got
a number of sources -- I've heard good things about
http://www.qualitrol.com/
and, although I don't know anyone who's used them, their website name is
suggestive:
http://www.fanuc-spares.co.uk/
These things were built like tanks -- there will be refurbs out there for a
long time because they were made mostly with off-the-shelf ICs. Expect to pay
the proverbial two limbs, though. As far as doing a home brew -- don't, unless
you really don't care about time, money, or reality. It's too much of a
headache when you just want to get a piece of equipment up and going again.
Back-engineering an '80s vintage machine computer to save $300USD is silly.
Good luck
Chris
