Exercise bike fan, resistance and workouts not working

Hi everyone hope someone can shed some light on this for me!
I have recently purchased a secondhand gold’s gym recumbent exercise bike. It appeared to be working as screen lights up and gives time/distance however when first attempted to use found cannot change resistance select workout type or fan. These buttons do work to turn screen on. Have tried putting batteries instead of ac adaptor and screen will not light up at all. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Redefine . . .or more EXACTLY DEFINE the specific unit that you have, by using this blanket search of units that GOLDS GYM has used . . . RE . . .

I then initially came up with this recumbant pedal unit, below, to begin with . . . . but you need to find YOUR specific unit, with their also referencing to models 400,300,310,290 and 390 . . . .etc.

Looking at manuals page 23 as your referencing, looks like your unit has the pedals rotating item 13 that has drive belt item 23 around ts periphery and tensioning roller item 25 taking up the slack.
Then the kinetic energy is transferred into flywheel item 7.
Now they mention a fan blade /propeller / air brake technique for braking resistance, but I see none being depicted on the blow up.
HOWEVER . . . I do see item 29, a resistance motor, but its ONLY showing its 4 mechanical mounting screws , with no other indicated . . . . . either mechanical or electrical connections into it.

Looks like you might need to fill us in on that aspect with photos.

Initially just do a limited exploratory teardown, being just enough to see if there is being a totally broken or excessively loose drive belt inside.
