Esprit 738 EX ALARM HELP!!!

H

Hank

Hello,

I have recently moved into a previously-owned house that has an Esprit
738 EX alarm but it is not activated. The only thing it used to do was
chime when someone opened the front door.

There was a major blackout recently and it started to beep annoyingly
so I disconnected the battery. When the power came back I reconnected
everything but the annoying beeps are back. How do I reset the alarm
so that it goes back to 'chiming' again like it used to?

Any help would be appreciated,

Henry

Sir, the chime functions must always be reset after a complete power
disconnect to the keypad. You must also reset the clock in the panel to get
rid of the "trouble 8"....loss of clock...after a complete power down of the
panel itself (both AC and battery disconnected)

Here's what you do:

1- Enter + master or installer code...."enter" light flashing.....push "mem"
key once, then type in time in 24 hour format ie: 1:30 is 1330, then push
"enter" twice. This will put the clock back in the panel.

2- The chime feature for each zone that you want to chime must be turned on
individually on each keypad. So for the front door (zone 1), hold down the 1
key for two seconds and you will hear a series of beeps. This means the
chime is on. If you wish to turn that same chime off, hold down the one key
until you hear a long beep, and it's now off...Note that this must be done
on each keypad that you want to chime....it's a keypad feature not a system
feature. If you wish to mute the whole keypad, use the 9 key to do that
(hold down for two seconds). Unmute is the opposite (this is useful to get
rid of the trouble beeping during an extended power outage)

The keypad back lighting is adjustable in four levels by holding down the
"mem" key for two seconds until you hear a series of beeps, then IMMEDIATELY
push the mem key again up to four times for four levels of backlight
adjustment.

If you wish the owners manual in PDF format, I can e mail that to you if you
wish.
