EMC/EMI Testing

All,

Is EMC/EMI testing always needed?

Or are there certain types of electronics that you need to do it on: EG. Motors, transformers

I'm trying to avoid unnecessary costs/time with EMC/EMI testing of a clutch valve.

If you plan to retail it commercially you have to follow the necessary rules for the country it will be distributed in. Have you checked to see what they are for your location?

It does depend on the product and as KE says the country in which you are going to place the product on the market makes a difference. It's a very complicated subject, what is your product?

You should always contact professional for any product testing regulations. The rules can be quite hard to understand in some cases at least in EU area.
