DRO Interface

I do use DROs like this one:

I use them to have digitized information for equipment I am using in my workshop. I have yet not been able to find the kind of interface to the display and control unit is used. I have the idea to generate a normal display with an Arduino or EPS32 board to get the digital values and display them in a display, X-, Y-, Z- and angular data. Using the EPS32 I would even be able to make that data available in a window on my PC.

Does anyone know the kind of interface?

Thx Bluejets. The information at the link is very interesting and I was not aware of the topic. Still so, my question is simpler, and reading the information it says that the 2 versions of displays shown are incompatible. How can identify which version mine is without opening the case on the sensor? Or do I have to open it?
The project has its focus on the display and control case. Is there a place to find schematics?
