I am brand new to these forums and very new to electronics and wiring in general, so please, bear with me. I am looking to create my own adapter to act as the Apple USB to lightning camera adapter, because I'd rather not buy one and would like to gain more experience in electronics. I have a female USB port from an old laptop and can strip a regular Apple charger for the wire an lightning connector, but am unsure of exactly how to wire them together and if this setup will be able to serve the same purpose as the official Apple adapter.
I know that the difference between an android otg adapter and a regular charger is a single pin. Is the camera connection adapter different in some physical way as well? To be specific, I'm not necessarily looking to connect a camera to my iPad (mini 2), and am more specifically looking for a way to connect a USB keyboard to it.
Any advice helps, thanks!
