diode substitution question

B

b

I am currently repairing a Thomson Tv icc7. Amongst other things, I
found a shorted diode BY13/600 in the PS. Can this be substituted with
1R 30D1 4J diode? (at least for test purposes). They are of similar
size and dimensions but I don't know their exact values.
Just curious.
regards, Ben

It will definitely be a 600V PRV rectifier and the current rating will
most likely be 1.5 or 2 A and it will be a fast recovery type. As long
as you use a device which has equal or better ratings then you will be
ok. I suggest you use a BY299 or FR206 or similar device to the specs
shown here

Use Google and search for '800v 2a fast recovery' and you will get
heaps of hits for other possibles.
