Diode on Pin1 and Pin8 on Opamp, does what?

What does this diode do on pin#1 and Pin#8 on this Op-amp?

Mostly I see a capacitor on Pin#1 and Pin#8 for frequency compensation

Are they using the capacitance of the diode?

This circuit is possibly a comparator, cf. page 13 of the datasheet. It is very unlikely that they usewd the diode's capacitance as this would be rather unspecified, temperature dependent, voltage dependdent etc.
