It's in the SOIC packaging, which I see is the reason it doesn't fit a breadboard - oh well. But I can't tell which pins are which.
I would normally assume that the lettering starts at pin 1, but from the top view the lettering starts at pin 8. In the functional block diagram the pins are reversed from the first page.
Does anyone know how to tell? Is there any way to test without being likely to fry the thing?
