Desperately need MSM5205 OKI speech chip

B

Bill

Does anyone out there have an MSM5205 OKI speech chip I might buy. I am
trying to repair an old Data East Pinball machine that has a bad sound board
and it looks to be the voice chip. It appears that this chip is extremely
obsolete and the only way I can get a hold of one is by buying a minimum of
8 pieces for 30 some bucks a piece. In lieu of the 5205 how about a
MSM6585, it appears to be a drop in replacement for the 5205. I really need
some help on this as I have 3 little girls who keep asking when 'daddy's
game' is going to be fixed so they can bounce the balls around again.

Thanks

Bill

Just took a look at his site and the chip is not listed on his "A few Rare
Transistors and IC's - special pinball/video game stock items..." page and
it says there that it isn't listed they don't have it. I tried the link he
has to "Main Electronics" but they don't seem to carry ICs at all. Thanks
for the link though.

Nope, not what I'm looking for, the one I need is from OKI semiconductor and
is labeled MSM5205. Thanks anyway.

He might have a whole board stashed somewhere, John's come through a
couple times with really oddball stuff I was looking for.

I dropped him an email explaining what I need, here's hoping he can help.
I'd really like to get this going again just so I can watch the 4 year old
up on a step stool banging the flipper buttons and laughing her head off :)

Thanks

Hi Bill,
Even if John doesn't have that chip, he'd be one of the best people
to suggest some workaround to get your sounds back. Now that you've
e-mailled him about it, I wish you success. :)

And if that doesn't work, try posting on rec.games.pinball, lots of guys
on there have parts.

I assume you tried the Pinball newsgroup. I am sure someone over there can
help.
