Design help to control 2 relays

Having 5vdc thru a momentary push button switch . How can I control the low side (Gnd .3A each) of two independent relays that acuatate in sequence as the button is pushed over and over ? Thanks glow

Use a 4017

A CD4017 could be part of the solution. It can't provide enough current to drive the relays directly, but could be used to switch two N-type logic-level MOSFETS which, in turn, would drive the relays. Depending what the relays (current-hogging things!) are to be used for, you might even be able to dispense with them and use the MOSFETS to switch the load(s) instead.

I would think that "In sequence" means one after the other.
Like 1, 2, 3, 4 & back to 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. In his case OFF, 1, 2, OFF, 1, 2.
As stated the 4017 is applicable.

On the other hand, if one relay is always on while the other is off this can be done with a 555, which has enough juice to drive the relays directly. Though it's doubtful that Glow doesn't want a both relays OFF state. Which of course makes 3 required states.
