Degen 1103 telescopic antenna repair?

Unfortunately broke off the top 2 sections of the stock antenna, Degen 1103.

a. Is there any way to repair the antenna?
b. If I replace the antenna, how important is it for the new antenna to be exact length/size of
the stock antenna?
c. If it is repairable, what is the best way to repair it?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Generally, the telescopic antennas seen on a lot of devices, are more of a pain to repair then they are worth... you generally need all kinds of things (like a flanger for tubing) that most people don't have readily available.

As for a replacement, it would be best if you got the same length antenna (fully extended). and if its like many of my short wave radios... the replacement will be generally about the same diameter (due to how many sections they have).

I would do some digging around, I'm not too familiar with the unit you have, but the first thing to look at (other then length fully extended), would be how it actually connects and screws in... most are fairly standard, but you want to make sure you get the right one. Oh, and make sure you save the screw that currently attaches the antenna, as many do not come with screws, and rarely do they look as good as the factory screws.

Good luck and let google be your guide (with length anyway)
