DC-Z93 pioneer left output low (stk4192)

Hi , Had my cousins amp to repair, it had about 6 broken tracks on the rca input board,
Now with those repaired the track between the volume and power amp (stk4192) is broken
but if hooked up output hums bad, and if a touch the cap feeding left input does the same,right channel is fine

can a damage amp have this problem ?

Check the potentiometer for good contact and operation.
Does the hum persist when you connect the wiper to ground:

Thanks for the reply Harald, I resoldered the ribbon wire pins on the volume control board and fitted my jumper wire
back up again and it works fine,
I did this before reading your post and the unit has gone as its got a big job at a party in a couple weeks,
If it fails again I will look in that area , I ran it for 1 hour at half volume not problem.
