Hi, I wanted to know if we can use a transistor/op-amp based current source circuit that could source out constant current of about 300mA?
Or are these circuits limited to source few tens of mA current??

No, the circuits per se are not limited. You need to select the right power transistor and sense resistor.
Here's an example of a 500 mA current source.
