Cosmic Rays for Telecommunications?

Any current project implying such technology?
What are the drawbacks?

Cosmic rays can obviously carry much more information than any radio
wave or light ray. This is due to their extremely short wavelength.

Um, well, I'd imagine they'd be more toxic/harmful than gamma, not to
mention the difficulty in creating them - (MV sources - if generated in the
same way as x-rays).

On the plus side - They go right throug anything they were shot at -
communicate over the horizon THROUGH the earth(that might make them a little
difficult to receive too....

They are called cosmic rays because they come to us from outer space.
I don't think we can generate them outside of using a cyclotron.
