Convert an alphanumeric vfd display or led?

I have been searching and I can not seem to find any information on this subject. It seems like the logic between vfd displays and led displays are similar except voltage? Vfd displays are higher voltage which might/should make it easier to convert?

These displays are installed in older timers and I have around 10 that need to be replaced. It seems you can not purchase a replacement vfd display either? Unless you get a custom display done from Noritake? Also it cost >$100 to get the manufacturer to repair the timer.... I was hoping to reduce the cost a little. :) Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Yes.... I believe the vfd displays are at fault. They seem to be getting the correct power when checked with a meter. But I am just checking the vfd pin voltages. I am not sure how else to check with the chip setup on the timers?

Some are buzzing, some are cracked and some seem to only have segments burnt out.
Thanks

I've had a quick look at the drivers used for these displays. As expected they're a high voltage, low current driver.

If you can determine the pinout of the display it may be possible to make something to drive a LED display, but practically, $100 is unlikely to cover your costs unless you make quite a number of them.
