Control Speed of AC Induction motor with DAC

Hey I have AC single-phase induction motor, Is it possible to control the speed of motor interfacing with raspberry Pi by sending analog signal (0-5v) to motor by using DAC controller ?

How to give power supply for DAC as well as motor during interface with RPI?

Your Suggestions will be very helpful.

What is the nature of the AC motor? HP?
shaded pole? PSC (permanent start cap) or cap-start cap-run?
Some 1ph motors do not control well, they drop out of run when loaded or reduced to low rpm.
