Connecting corded phone to telephone socket in another room

Is there any reason why I should not be able to connect a corded telephone to a BT wall socket using Powerline adapters? I notice on amazon there are a number of adapter cables that I think would work but first I need to sort out if the electronics would permit it.

Well, if the pipeline adapters are for network use, they won't work with an analogue phone.

Why not give us a link to the device you're contemplating?

I agree with kellys_eye.

Buy a set of cordless phones, connect the base station to the socket and leave as many additional handsets around the home as you want. Simple, cheap and effective.

The device you link to seems to tie you to the room with the socket, if I read the spec correctly. Could be wrong.

I currently have dect phones which have all but one failed. This time I decided I would not go for another dect phone system but instead use a corded phone. I agree that each corded phone will not be accessable from other locations with in the flat but as the flat has only effectively 3-4 rooms that is not a problem. Looking again at my original proposal do you think it would work? I happen to have two spare sets of pipeline adapters, that will help keep the cost down.
