I am looking for a cheap circuit diagram drawing program.
so that I can store diagrams on my computer.


Does anyone know of a Free / Shareware program that will
enable me to draw simple circuit diagrams with resister, capacitor.
and transistor symbols etc. ?

you could download free ltspice from www.linear.com which has a library of parts
in a nice schematic editor and will even simulate your circuit to boot!

My gonzo utilities do ultra high quality schematics, but require
considerable learning and are not quite WYSIWIG.

For quick & easy I'd certainly recommend CircuitMaker Student (freeware)
http://www.microcode.com/

Not the largest parts library in the world, but most common parts are
covered, and labels can be easily edited or moved about.

I find the programs that can also produce a pcb design (such as Eagle) far
slower to use, as instead of just picking a capacitor or resistor you have
to select a particular maker's part & part number (to get the pcb hole pitch
correct)
