Choosing connection scheme for high power LED application

Hi there,

I want to build a LED floodlight using 9 XHP70 LEDs by Cree (Datasheet) running at around 12,35 Vf and a corresponding forward current of 1.900 mA per LED. I would like to power them with a Mean Well HLG series driver, but unfortunately there aren’t any available to run all LEDs in series - not even in a 3x3 series-parallel array. Could I therefore connect them all in parallel or would the risk of current hogging be too high? As a side note, each XHP70 chip is made up of 4 LEDs connected in series. Would this limit the effect of current hogging, since in theory this would make it a 9x4 series-parallel array? Also, can current hogging be reduced by better cooling (i.e. larger heat sink) so that current hogging LEDs can't get much hotter than the other ones?

Please excuse me if I made simple mistakes here and there or asked something silly. I am by no means an expert in electronics, but I tried to get as far as possible by myself reading datasheets and consulting Google! :)

Thanks for any help!
