Changing Clear LED for Infrared

I build a light with your help a couple months back. I used 3 clear LED lights (5mm 940m), 3 Resistors, a normally off switch and a power supply 3.7V 700mAh 20C 2.6Wh LiPo rechargeable battery. I would like to build another light with a similar setup but using (3), 5mm 940NM Infrared light Forward (V) 1.2 - 1.4, Forward current (mA) 100mA . Is this possible?

I used 3 clear LED lights (5mm 940m)

Clear is the 'color' of the plastic of the LED's housing. The LED could be any color.
I assume the 940m is 940 nm? These LEDs are already infrared.
What then is the issue?
