Can a charging pad stand alone on a portable power source?

Hi all,

My name is Pete and I am trying to find help for a high school project. I need expert help and advice!

1. I am trying configure a charging pad that is typically used for cell phones, where you place the cellphone on the surface and it starts charging automatically without any attachment of cables. I was curious to know if it is possible to power one of these pads from a portable power device? I have attached a photo for reference. Will a portable power device have the "juice" to push enough power to a charging pad to use it on the go?

2. Can these charging pads power camera batteries when placed on the surface alone and not in the camera body?

Thank you for your time and advice in advance!

1) Aslong as the portable power device (power bank) is rated for the same voltage as the input of the chargng pad this setup will basically work. How much it can charge the cell phone depends on the capacity of the power bank (in mAh) and the capacity of the cell phone's battery. Since there are losses when transmitting the power via the pad, the power bank should have at least 2* the capacity of the cell phone.

2) No, this will most probably not work. You need a receiver circuit to convert the energy from the wireless pad to a charging current for the battery. Typically this circuit is part f the camera, cellphone or whatever, not part of the battery. Terefore a bare battery won't charge.
