Bringing Voltage from 4 Volts to 1000 (or slightly more)

Hi everybody I'm new to the forum,
I am planning to get a 1000 V in a limited band (let's say from 50 Hz to 100 kHz) from a standard function generator (5 V max output). In order to do that I am thinking to use a power amplifier (this one:
http://www.falco-systems.com/High_voltage_amplifier_WMA-280.html) to get the output voltage up to 80 V or so and then a transformer to act as final amplification stage.
What kind of transformer would you suggest for such a task. The connection can be made directly or should I expect some kind of retroaction?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi there
welcome to EP :)

sounds pretty dangerous
what are you planning to do with this 1000V ?
what high voltage experience do you have ?

Wow...thanks for the quick reply. I am building a piezoelctirc actuator to excite a crystal. Your question hits exactly the point: it's the first time I am designing something for high voltages. I am not alone and I am sure I can get some help, despite this I would like to have any caveats and hints you could give me.

Don't. 1000v especially at your proposed 100Khz is an instant killer. If you do manage to survive you will no doubt have severe RF burns.
