books for beginners

what do any of you recommend as a good starter book or books to get into electronics, i'm currently reading http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/05...rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=2090149322&pf_rd_i=desktop it goes step by step and tells what is what, which is good, but i'm also nearing the the end of the book and would like some suggestions as to where to go next.

You could try 'electronics for dummies' I found it quite helpful, though it may cover the same ground at the same depth as the make book. If you're up for a challenge try the art of electron is next as that goes into more depth.

I've also found loads of online tutorials etc. It seems to me a good idea to aim for a book that is stretching such as art of electronics and then go online when you get stuck.

I believe there is also a second make electronics book. Perhaps called make more electronics!
