Blown Regulator!! SOS!

Hi

Would anyone have any idea why the 7815 on this circuit died. It is just putting out 4.1V

The input is from a Lifepo4 battery 21v - 29V

Any help appreciated,desperate as the unit has come back today and was a trial...It only worked for 4 hrs before blowing!!!

The Regulator is marked TS7815 OF1 CZ

The data sheet for the TS7815 that I saw said 23V max input. I could not find OF1 CZ.

Yes, I think you are correct. I saw the data somewhere and it says Max was 35V. Does that mean for a very short time.....

Ie if running at 26.5 - 28V for long periods will this cause this sort of damage.

Can you recommend a regulator that can deal with these requirements. I was hoping to get one from Maplin today but their site is awful!!
