Black & Decker Kr603 600w Type 2 Drill

Hi all, I have this drill machine and using it for some time. Now it is behaving strangly. It would not work in its normal poisition but work perfectly if I rotate horizantally 90 degrees either way.
Could anybody please shed some light on it. Thanks.

I checked the connection they are all secure

What form of motor? DC ? Universal? Other?
OK it looks like a Universal, so check the brushes and cord.

220 volts direct. It is a hammer drill with variable speed.

Its common for there to be a break in the cord were it enters the drill, with what you describe.

i checked the continuity from plug to the switch, it is ok.
