Bimax 132 welder broken wirefeeder

Hey Steve,

The relay you linked in your first link has a switching voltage of 380VAC, does that mean that's the maximum voltage (so it can handle 250 just fine?) If it doesn't fit, I'll make it fit.

Yep, 380V is the maximum. Anything under that is fine. (Sometimes relays have different ratings for AC and DC, but in this case we're talking AC for both the rated 380 and your 250).

Ok great! I put the working relay back into its housing and ductaped it shut. Solderd back in and it works (for now). At least I know a short won't mess up anything else in there:p

Thanks for all the help!

That didn't last long. The relay shorted out again, on the same place, only much more violently this time (there's a sutt spot on the metal casing of the welder) The relay is beyond all repair and the PCB is pretty messed up at the relay solder spots too: pretty much charred from front to back. The good news is that it doesn't look like I fried anything else. When I get a new relay, I'll have to bypass the messed-up part of the board and sorder it to some different solder points.
