Hi all,
I’m building a small project using NEMA 17 stepper motors and an Arduino Uno, and I’m trying to choose the best stepper motor driver.
I’ve tried the A4988 and DRV8825, but I'm getting skipped steps and some overheating. I’m considering switching to a TMC2209 or TB6600 (though TB6600 is kind of big).
My priorities:
Smooth, reliable motion
Decent torque at 12–24V
Easy to set up and cool
Any suggestions or favorite drivers? Also, quick tips on setting current limits safely would be appreciated!
