Barco 2100Lc lcd sputters on startup.

I recently got a BARCO 2100Lc on ebay and it kind of (sputters?) with
light then dies each time I try to start it. I have taken it apart
and checked many points but have not checked volts with power on since
I have no manual. Of note the front panel also shows only a few of
the LEDs. any help would be appreciated. Oh and when it starts up a
relay switch starts flipping back and forth then stops. I didn't know
if it is a relay problems ince they go out a lot or something up
stream feeding it. BTW I am really an amateur at this so I need help.

Either the ballast, or lamp or combination of both items. Take it into a
qualified servicer and have them evaluate your E-Bay find to see how much it
will cost you to actually make it function.

The ballast or the back light is starting to fail. You will have to take the
monitor for service. I would not advise messing with it, unless you are
experienced at LCD monitor service, and have parts access for it.

It's not a backlight, it's a Barco video projector, but your advice is still
reasonable. It's possible that the lamp is expired and the timer is shutting
it down, it's also possible that the lamp was replaced and the timer not
reset, though I'd not advise resetting it unless you're positive the lamp
has been replaced, or would like to run it for a few moments to verify that
the electronics are ok.
