Audio/Video Switch parts

I have been asked to design a series of Audio/Video switches by a company I
used to design for. They want to see 8 to 1 as well as 1 to 8 for both audio
and video. The last serious design I did was ten years ago, so I am assuming
that the the old Hitachi 506 and CD405* series Mux's have been improved upon
and replaced with something better?

As I started digging around looking for the best parts, I realized that maybe
some here would have an opinion as to what devices might be considered a good
fit for what I have been asked to do.

Probably too general a request, but I need to start somewhere and I am out of
the loop at the moment with vendors and sales people.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

John

Line-level audio? Standard level video?

You might look at Maxim products such as

Maybe use something like TSH941 quad video opamps. These amps can be
digitally enabled/disabled in 200nS, allowing for video/audio bussing or
matrixing, yet retain the normal opamp benefits of buffering, signal
isolation, gain setting etc.

Maxim max4661 seems quite nice, low RDSon, but you will probably have
to use a T switch arrangement to keep the crosstalk down. its got
+_15v rails which is a bonus for audio

For a crosspoint switcher try max4548, but its perfomance isnt that
good, THD wise at 0.07%, and has limited headroom as a voltage switch.
Probably worth trying out as a virtual earth switcher, but I havent
gone through the datasheet enough to see if there are any gotchas as a
VE switch

I havent looked at more recent ic's these are just 2 that I found in
my my library

Serious error.
All shortcuts have disappeared.
Screen. Mind. Both are blank.
