Essentially you are probably looking for a gate driver. There are many differences between MOSFETs and IGBT's, but both have similar gate drive requirements.
Generally speaking, you want them to switch fast, and for that you want a low impedance driver (i.e. one able to supply significant current -- up to several amps).
It's also important not to exceed various gate limitations, the most important being there voltage limits.
There are a plethora of chips on the market (many of which do other useful things like handling dead time) but it is possible to make them from discrete components.
