Altium PCB editor question

I'm running the Winter 1999 release of Altium. When in the PCB editor how do I delete a component footprint? The subject component footprints are not linked to anything in the schematic side of the project so why can't I just delete them? Delete doesn't work, neither does cut.

Hi,

Look strange to me. Select and delete the component should work. If you don't care you can send me your .PCB file and I will have a look.
