Aiwa NSX 3500 CD Tray problem

The cd tray on my Aiwa NSX 3500 opens when power is turned on and stays open. Always worked fine till now. It's a good little system with great sound. Please share any ideas on repairing or replacing the unit with something of equal quality. Thanks. Mich

Is the eject button broken? Does it click normally when you press it?

What happens if you push the tray in slightly? Normally this will make a CD player close the tray.

One other thing to try first, is to unplug power to the unit to see if that clears any internal memory start-up sequence menu internal to the device.
