Aircon keeps triggering circuit breaker after 1-2 minutes of operation

Anyone seen this before? The inside fan is ok, but I am guessing the outside
fan is stopping and drawing massive current. Dont have a current meter and
cant get to the outside fan either :-(

You have ruled out the compressor ?
Fans are normally a much less loading on the supply.
What type of breaker ie. with or without earth leakage protection.
With respect you may be a tad out of your depth here.

Yes. It is normally associated with too small a breaker current for the
start current of the compressor.
Check the specs in the installation instructions / user manual and compare
these to the rating of the breaker installed.
Quite often sparkies who want to skimp on using the correct gauge cable for
the load current / distance fit a smaller breaker to prevent the house
catching on fire in the event of a fault / too high a stall or start up
current in the compressor motor.
The indoor unit is most likely running on a separate circuit or breaker.
Get it fixed if it has been recently installed or under warranty - should
cost nothing to fix a stuff up.
If out of warranty get a qualified a/c sparkie to check it out.

Cheers,
Alan

** Check if the breaker is getting very hot.

If so, it may well be the fault.

You really need a "clamp meter" for this sort of thing.

Or just call a sparky.
