Advanced Identification Systems & Biometrics Conference Announcement

ADVANCED IDENTIFICATION SYSTEMS & BIOMETRICS CONFERENCE DATES &
CO-CHAIRS SET

Portland, USA, March 27, 2006 - Intertech-Pira Corporation, a leading
conference producer and market research publisher who provides
strategic information analyses pertaining to advanced materials and
technologies, announces that its international technology conference,
Advanced Identification Systems with Facial Biometrics, Documents &
Imaging for Security, in association with findbiometrics.com, will be
held on December 6th-8th, 2006 at the Crystal City Double Tree Hotel &
Conference Center in Washington, D.C., USA. Intertech-Pira has hosted
hundreds of conferences, inspiring nearly 300,000 executives,
manufacturers, marketers, experts and end users of advanced
technologies across North America, Europe and Asia since 1979. This
conference will be followed by June, 2007's Advanced ID Systems &
Biometrics Asia conference in Shanghai, China.

Co-chaired by Terry Hartmann, Director, Secure Identification &
Biometrics, Unisys, Robert Eckel, President, Government Programs,
Digimarc, and someone from the Department of Defense (TBA), we expect
200-300 industry leaders to speak, sponsor, exhibit, and attend this
event. Advanced Identification Systems & Facial Biometrics, Documents
& Imaging for Security is designed to address the largest challenges
producers and users are facing in the development and deployment of
identification solutions and systems for government, law enforcement,
banking, optics & imaging, access control, transportation,
telecommunications, document/ID, gaming & hospitality, and IT/computer
science sectors. Advances in authentication and verification in
identification systems and products have improved the ability of
government, law enforcement, and commercial enterprises in accurately
tracking and identifying individuals. Improvements in image capture,
pattern recognition, data storage, and decision processing have
resulted in the employment of better biometric technologies in more
secure, user-friendly, and cost-effective applications.
Intertech-Pira's Advanced Identification Systems conference will
address present technologies in identification documents, programs and
cards, enrollment & authentication, image processing & optimization for
identification systems and documents, access control, data compression,
transmission, and decompression, feature extraction, pattern matching,
scalability & reliability, computer algorithms, and identification
system decision making. Special attention will be paid to facial
imaging and recognition technology, including 3D recognition,
intelligent imaging & video surveillance, passenger screening &
tracking, multi-modal biometric systems, sensors & optics for
identification solutions, government programs & contracts, neural
network algorithms, and identification documents, cards, and programs.
Affected areas and applications include: physical access control,
passenger screening and tracking, biometric national IDs and passports,
fraud & identity theft prevention, identification for law enforcement,
smart cards, intelligent video surveillance, information security,
secure computing, and computer science in vision, feature extraction,
and pattern analysis.

The conference will feature 25 speakers who will assess the prospects
for advanced identification systems & solutions, and lead discussion on
new applications and technologies through presentations,
question-and-answer sessions, and an interactive panel discussion, led
by 5 industry leaders. Two pre-conference seminars will be held on
December 6th, prior to the main conference sessions. With more than 10
networking opportunities, including evening receptions, breakfasts,
lunches and several breaks in the expansive exhibit area, this
conference serves as the forum for discussions on identification &
recognition technology and applications. Over 200 industry executives
and technologists from leading organizations and government agencies
are expected to attend this international conference, which will be
held in the security capital of the world, Washington, D.C.

Speaker recruitment is now underway. To submit a topic for
