adjusting current in oatley electronics K091A SLA CHARGER KIT

hi, just bought the K091A SLA CHARGER KIT from oatley electronics , ONLY BECAUSE it said this kit can EASILY be adjusted for higher currents , after a email toi them this is what they said

" Hi Mark: It is not easy to upgrade this kit...we will delete this
note...branko "

great ........... attached is the schematic for it , any body got any ideas on how i could do this ? ( modify it for lerger current out put ? )

EDIT---- anyway found the schematic on the Oatley site.

Doing some GOOGLING I found many links to the MC34063 chip used in that cct and one link provided this info....

about a guy asking pretty much the same Q as you have. Just dont follow his dopey ways and by not using the components specified and then wonder why it gets very hot and doesnt work ;)

It's easy to mod, but you have to know what you're doing as there are pitfalls.
The bad part of that kit is that I bet they don't tell you the self-inductance of the core, nor how many ampere-turns it can take before saturating.
Here is a calculator. Just enter your spec's and you'll get ready crunched numbers in return.
