adapters for tapping electricity from fluorescent bulb sockets?

I am wondering if there are any "adapters for tapping electricity from
fluorescent bulb sockets". ?

I park my car in the basement garage of the building and there are no
electrical wall outlets anywhere. However just above my car is a
fluorescent bulb :) I have been searching the google for some kind of
adapter that you can just temporarily fit into the bulb socket (remove
the bulb first of course) and then voila 120v electricity out to run
your vacuum cleaner, car polisher and what not. When you are done,
screw the bulb back in place and go on your way. This dilemma alone
sometimes wish I own my own home instead of living in a building
apartment.

There is no such thing, since the sockets you plug the tube into don't
have 120 on 'em.

There's a lot more to firing up a fluorescent light than "apply
electricity". Part of the process involves a transformer, or an
electronic equivalent, and what comes out of it is usually a small
fraction of an amp - 300-500 mA is coming to mind as being typical - Not
enough to run any of the items you listed, since a motor of any useful
size for such items is going to want multiple amps, even when not under
any significant load.

None that I've ever heard of. The issue is that the sockets are not
directly connected to AC power. Fluorescent tubes require a ballast (a
type of transformer or electronic device to fire up the tubes), and it
is the outputs of such a device that feed the sockets.

What an odd coincidence... I just said pretty much the same thing :)

I don't know what type socket is that. Is it plain US screw type
socket or
rectangular 2pin socket? In later case the ballast is hidden somewhere
and
first case ballast is builtin the lamp.
If U have screw type socket then there are 2-3 way adaptors
availble in
hardware electrical shops.
In India we have buyonet type sockets and we use such adaptors
frequently.
