AC Lighted Volt Meter Help

I have an AC volt meter that includes a small filament to light the display. On the back of the meter are 4 terminals: two for the 120V and two for the filament (3 ~ 6v DC). How do I light the filament along with getting the volt measurement? Sorry if this sounds simplistic (I am a newbie).

You can connect a small battery to the terminals for the filament.

can the light just draw power from the 120v line? If so, I imagine we'd need some kind of conversion.

A small transformer would be the safest. Can you find one with a (say) 4V secondary?

Maybe you could get a small USB charger and use the 5V from that. Probably cheaper than a transformer.
