Science experiment: Is it safe to use an AC Adapter set to put out 12V instead of 8 D cell batteries assembled in a series?
Background:
I’m doing a science experiment “How to Make a Light Bulb”

All the plans I see for this experiment call for 8 D cell batteries (assembled in a series so they put out 12 V). Where I live that is very expensive. But I have a AC Adapter (Universal Power Supply) which can put out 12 V.
Is it safe use my AC Adapter instead of the 8 D cell batteries? I’m a total beginner and I want to make sure I don’t blow all the fuses in my building.
